Default yaosm 3.2 - Improved DL detection and no more region bug

This is the final release of yaosm 3.2. (these are the exact same hex files as rc3. So no need to reflash if you allready have rc3.)

This release is NOT a DVD upgrade. It needs to be flashed to the chip.

All 3.x versions are 100% backward compatible when it comes to DVD upgrades. You'll find the latest configuration and upgrade discs here: yaosm configuration and upgrade discs

Quickstart

1. Reprogram chip with new hex.
2. Use an non-import disc first after programming to autoconfigure the chip for your region.
3. Use the config disc to customize your settings (no GC controller required, try the resetbutton and you'll figure it out).

Changes from yaosm 3.0/3.1
- Improved disc detection.
- Fixed PIC code so that it cannot corrupt the region byte. (No, really, this time it IS fixed)
(if you have yaosm 3.0 or 3.1 then I recommend the upgrade found here which will hard code the region and eleminating the chance of region byte corruption)

Changes from yaosm 2.0
- Better Dual Layer support. Supports SSBB on DVD+DL and DVD-DL with or without DVD-ROM booktype as long as your Wii can read the media.
- DVD upgradability. Proof of concept upgrade available on config disc.
- Config disc can now be used without a GC controller. Press resetbutton once to enter yaosm configuration program. Then hold to move the "cursor" and press quickly to change a setting.
- Recovery feature if an upgrade fails.

Configuration bytes (for those who don't want to use the config disc)
Code:

Code:
     Configuration
-------------
This is an explanation of the configuration bytes:

byte 0 = Regionpatching
0x00 = JAP, 0x01 = USA, 0x02 = EUR, 0x03 = disabled, 0xFF = auto (default)

byte 1 = Default speed setting (only affects Wii backups)
0x00 = slow speed (Gamecube speed)
0x01 = medium speed (Somewhere in between)
0xFF = fast speed (Wii speed) (default)

byte 2 = Alternate speed setting (only affects Wii backups)
0x00 = slow speed (Gamecube speed)
0x01 = medium speed (Somewhere in between)
0xFF = fast speed (Wii speed) (default)

byte 3 = Chip disable feature (you may want to disable this if you have a LED connected to pin3)
0x00 = Disable the chip disable feature (no weak pull-up on pin3)
0xFF = Enable the chip disable feature (this is the default)

byte 4 = Not used (autoboot if chip is upgraded with config disc)

byte 5 = Audiofix on/off
0x00 = Disable the Gamecube audiofix (always off)
0x01 = Disable audiofix by default (when powering up the Wii) and enable it by inserting a Wii disc before running your GC backup.
0x02 = Enable audiofix by default (when powering up the Wii) and disable it by inserting a Wii disc before running your GC backup.
0xFF = Enable the Gamecube audiofix (always on)(default)

byte 6 = reserved and used by recovery procedure in case of a bad upgrade. Do NOT change this manually.

byte 7 = Always 0xFF, do not change.

byte 8 and higher = reserved for upgrade patch data
Have fun!

Hi bell,
first of all, thanks for the great job you keep on doing to improve yaosm's quality. I've never had any issue with yaosm (the only problem I had, was the region byte corruption, that occurred only once). The first real problem happened today, with the final release of yaosm 3.2 (aka rc3 ). With 3.0 I was able to load all kind of media without any DRE (even SSBB on DualLayer). Today, I tried the final release of 3.2 and tried the same backup of SSBB, but, once passed the "now loading" screen, wii started to make strange clicking noises, so I ejected the disc. Then, I decided to step back to 3.0 as it really reads everything flawlessly (hoping that the region byte won't corrupt again).
I have a PAL DMS wii (3.2E) and burned SSBB on a pioneer 111D (so booktype is set automatically to "DVD-ROM") at 2.4x, on a Verbatim +R.
Thanks again for the great job you're doing!
regards

I have 3.2 RC2, is there much point to going 3.2 Final?

Also, I used the config disc to set Region patching to ON, however I can't select US/EUR etc from using the config disc. Is that correct?

Cheers Bell!

You don't select the region from the config disc. As it is stated in the top post, right after you flash with the new hex files, you use a non-import disc from your own region to set your wii's region.

Bell do you forsee DVD upgradability for the future, or will a reflash be necessary. :\
I know you can't say for sure, but is the "code" you currently have implemented make room for any future upgrades, or will the upgrades always be proof of concepts?

Good job!

There currently available upgrade adds the Update blocker which is a "real" upgrade and not just a proof of concept.

Update blocker with Mario Kart = not "update window" and correct intro in disc channel BUT black screen when begin the game. The game needed update for run ok.

Yaosm 3.2rc3 on a PAL WII D2B.

Upgrade for run NTSC GC backups on a PAL Wii?

P.D.: for ever, excuse me for mine very bad "English"

Edit: All the other things run perfect! (i haven't got double layer discs).
