Default Is there anyway to disable the modchip via switch?

So is there any way to add a switch to disable this modchip? What points do I solder the switch to?

To disable any chip, you would simply disconnect VCC or VCC and GND.

i tried putting a switch on vcc and it resulted in a dead drive.

tried it with ground too, also a dead drive.

also, what do you mean by S point and ground? do you mean connecting one end of the switch to S and the other on ground?

He didnt say s point and gnd...

he said s point and clk. youd chose one not both. Id suggest trying with S. You just setup an intercept, so that it either connects or breaks. If its not connected then it doesnt boot.

whoops, i meant clk, not ground.

anyways, i've tried installing a switch on S, resulted in a dead drive when the switch is off.

i've tried installing a switch on clk, also resulted in a dead drive.

i've still haven't received a e-mail back from the wiizard team despite the fact they said they'll check on monday (which was 2 mondays ago)

i guess i'll go back to the wasabi v3 for the time being

You cannot do a switch with the Wiizard, disconnecting points will cause the dead drive as you saw.

Probably a psycological issue. People tend to feel more safe when they fysically see it's off. Anyway I'm sure a switch is possible. The only question is how many and which wires need to be disconnected untill the drive comes to life. In the worst case is all of them and you need a 9 contact switch.
