Default Question about install points

Hi

I have looked at the following diagram at wiizard's homepage
Wiizard Mod Direct Store
Now this has an alt X that I haven't seen anybody use in an install.

Can I confirm that this is an ok point to use as this would mean only 2 IC legs to solder to and not adjacent to each other, this I can do, have managed a ps2 slim but the IC legs are the only thing that give me grief.

Can I also check, does the wiizard support all drive versions, d2c2 and d2e aswell? Are the solder points the same on all drives?

Many Thanks

Roy

Wiizard chips are compatible with all the drives. I prefer sticking with the regular points when soldering the chips. good luck and have fun.

I always use the alt X although I solder it on the leg instead of the via hole. No problem whatsoever.

cool.
Is this always the same case, i.e. instead of using the IC leg, can I follow the trace to a via nearby and use that point? Mainly for the PS2 I am doing at the mo, I have 3 right next to each other, 1 I find no problem, whenever I try to add the adjacent ones it becomes bridge time

Default install

best thing for these pins are to prep them(pre solder them)also prep the wires as well if you got some flux there ,that will make life easyer as well.....

thanx.

yeah, i've got flux. I've been tinning the wire but not the pin, just fluxing the pin and i keep bridging when I get to the 2nd or 3rd together. So I'll try tinning the pins too.

I've also noticed some people soldering with the wire led down on the leg sort of thing, that looks like it may be an easier method, should be able to get the wire to stay more in place.

We'll see how tomorrow goes.
