Disc updates are only for the SPI. JTAG is for the Actel core. Lets say i buy at 100 of these chips what willl i do now the new D2E is out? I cannot use a disc can I? Wizzard offer JTAG update as a feature so i would expect some sort of connector and ribbon.
well,,something is not behind of anything if the competitors are offering a JTAG upgrade system but not using it when required .. AKA D2PRO , i explain it on IRONIC MODE : ----> "hello,my name is d2pro,and yes, i've a jtag upgrade system,but i dont want to use it , my hardware is 100% same for d2c2 but it's better suck a new money to all the customers"
exactly....d2pro team should have just sold thier first batch of chips without the jtag as it would be cheaper for them and the customer since they didnt continue using it and have still not released jtag upadate for old batches of chips......although argon team has admitted they cant support current batch of chips and the delays it causes for firmware releases, they proved thier support for existing argons and gave people something to work with.

I thought you would be on their side dazza, since your product, the wiiboss had some extra production runs that you received...how much money for your hours and hours of hard work? That's right, $0.0. nothing.
If you could have saved wiiboss, you would have. No one likes to throw money down the drain, so don't pretend like this is a bad thing. I'm sure you should rather have made money off wiiboss, then make a fucking loss, right, Right?
At the end of the day, you are supporting a product that doesn't even have the possibility of JTAG, and the other that as points on the bottom of it like the d2ckey...have fun updating them.
D2pro will flash back any amount of d2pros for us, and we will do the same for any reseller buying off us. So i don't know what everyone keeps bitching about. Sounds like a bunch of doucebaggery to me.
Nobody likes having their existing stock shipped back and forth between resellers and customers to get updated/replaced while the product is being advertised as jtag programmable by the end user precisely for these kind of situations. It's a big waste of time and money getting a good chip this way. Especially when you know there won't be any more updates later down the road also (D2E?). They might as well skip the whole jtag connector and cable.
I understand they are protecting their property but I'm sure if they made better protection their firmware images wouldn't be so easy to use for cloning.
