Default Mod for the sensor bar

dont know if it should be in this form.. but i was haveing problems with my pointer finger jumpin around makeing it hard to play most games. i have a 47" LCD and its about 15ft or more from where i sit. i read alot of stuff about the new wireless sensor bars haven a range of 25ft. if your cheap like me and are haveing the same problem.

i just took the stock sensor bar
cut both sensors ends off enought to beable to get 2 screws back in.
Spliced it with enough wire so that each LED's site on both ends of my tv.
It works like a charm..
remember to use the cross up the +/- when runnin to the other LED
+======power+=====LED+======wire=====-
-======power-=====LED-======wire======+

to lazy to take pics!!!

this makes me wonder:
are there 3rd party sensorbars with a longer "range" than the original ones?
or wider ones (for bigger tvs = more distance to tv)?

if i understood right the only thing the sensorbar does is output constant ir-light with 2 leds, correct?

if yes, then wouldnt it make sense to get the power somewhere off the tv (rs232 connector, usb connector, scart, hdmi, vga, ...) and just place 2 ir leds on both top "corners" of the tv?

i wonder when some 3rd party seller will give us some professional 3rd party large-tv specialized sensor-bar :-)

Just make your own sensor bar with IR LEDs. It can even be wireless since the IR LEDs do not send any info to the Wii.

yeah i saw a video on you tube all the guy did was get 2 Ir led and a AA battery then put them at both ends of the TV and it did work, i just did a fun test and this in fact dose work. take 2 remotes like TV and DVD player, put next to the TV just like the sensor bar have one person press and hold a button on both remotes and you will see that it works. i just had trouble getting the angle/ distance. AND NO THERE WAS NO SENSOR BAR ATTACHED TO THE WII

There are actually 10 LEDs

the top view is similar to this:

This mod just allows you to get futher away from the screen without lack of sensitivity.

I play closer to my big screen. :\

There's a nifty little site here that, at the bottom of the screen, will calculate any type of variation you need for maximum sensitivity of your wiimote. I've done some testing using their recomendations and it seems to work.
