Default color your wii mote

I was wondering if anyone dyed there remotes? When I was into rc cars we would dye our white rims with rit cloth dye to what ever color we wanted. So anyone tried this? Maybe I will have to be the first.

Well that didn't work the buttons turned out ok but the heat shrunk both parts good thing I did a nunchuck first. I don't know if the die will work with cold water maybe that will be better.

Well had to try it. Spray paint chips especially with a seven year old playing. Have to take the silicone covers to put in a charger. Now I have an excuse to buy a different shell set.

To color wiimotes and other plastic goods, you want to use "vinyl dye". It comes in a spray can, but will not chip like regular spray paints or plastic coatings. It's perfect for mated parts, because the coating is super-thin and chemically bonds to plastics. You can find it in most automotive/hardware stores in various colors.

I used it to great effect on a few of my hacked pure-digital camcorders, and it holds up great to constant handling. Once it's dry you can even polish it for a super glossy finish.

Thanks for the info. Last night will searching for info on this I found a site to where a guy used vinyl die on a computer case so figured if it work on that will work on a wii mote. Now I have to get it and maybe lay out a design.
