That is a beautiful link man, thanks a lot! Appreciated! And thanks for the tutorial also, looks great, did it to all my nunchucks... Only problem of course is I can't even use my pretty red ones

Wow, this forum is deader than spam! Just figured I would post an update incase anyone else runs into my little problem... Thanks again Metroid for your help.

I ended up buying a pack of different resistance resistors and the highest there was in there was a 47ohm...

I am happy to say I can actually USE my red nunchucks now!! Woohoo! There is still a SLIGHT drain... Once you plug it in it will go down about a quarter of a bar which you won't even see unless it is getting close to going down a bar... But it holds steady.

I'll probably try a 60-70 ohm soon to see if I can kill the drain all together... The LEDs are still very bright, I could certainly sacrifice a little more brightness

Thanks for your help!

And look forward to some new mods in here... It's a little stagnant

i'm curious as to why the smd's are sucking soo much power. how many of the 0603's did you use? I have 2 5mm superbrights in my chuck and it hardly touches the batt. i used a 1ohm resistor in there and so far so good. actually i've hardly noticed any difference in the draining of the batt compared to normal. however my hands are getting a nice tan from the brightness of the led's i used :P

Only used 2 of the little suckers... It never stated a size when I bought them but I would assume they are the 3mm since it is too small to replace the blue faceplate leds... had to use a wire to get it to touch the other side.

I don't know why they suck so much power either... I was surprised when I came back to this thread to see that NO ONE was having my problem!

Originally I tried an 10 ohm and it did not slow down the drain one bit... Had to work my way up to that 47 ohm in order to see results, and still not quite there yet.

Oh well!

SMDs, tiny little guys... Good thing I have a magnifying glass!

I am assuming the 3mm's are the typical oval shape diode then? My bad... Yup they are the 0603 smds.

ok you just confused me by saying 0603 then 3mm. an 0603 is 1.6mm and then you stated 3mm which is a standard for the non smd led's. anyway glad that was cleared up.

Gotcha, I am no longer LED retarded ... I know the diff... So does using the 0603s explain the HUGE power drain??

You should use 120 Ohm

Perfect, just picked up a pack of resisters that range from 100 to 400 ohms... Unfortunately there are no 120s but hopefully 100 will do.

Thanks for the input
