ive been using them for about a month and the leds arent fading or smoking,
you can/should use a resistor, but for now its fine without it.

I just did this mod but used 5mm led's instead of 3. heck i had a bunch of them laying around so why not. anyway the front led i had to, well, modify as well to get it to fit correctly. the rear went in pretty well. I'm not sure about other peoples mods, but my super brights almost seemed too bright. they glow through the case. the cool part is the front one is bright enough it lights up the front buttons as well. overall nice little mod.

yea some 3mm one i had to shave down a lil so they wouldnt interfer with the joystick cover. but even the 3mm shine though a bit, but im sure nowhere near the 5mm, can you plz post some dark pix ;-)

damn those babies r bright, you should put some electrical tape over the top in the inside so it doesnt bleed through the white plastic so much above the LED
looks good though ;-)

I thought about that but the 5mm's were soo dang nasty to get in there with grinding etc...... i can live with them glowing a bit :P anyway for some reason i thought this mod was more difficult than installing a mod chip. and if i were to do it again i would put about 6 smd's around the outside instead of 2 superbrights. they are smaller and would fit better i believe.

So here's one for you guys...

I did a few of the mods mentioned (Rumble light mod, nunchuk mod, wii faceplate mod) and I am having a hell of a time with the nunchuk.

Did one nunchuk yellow and 2 red.

The red ones when you plug it into the remote and check out the battery meter will go: 4 bars... 3... 2... 1... unresponsive in as many seconds.
Unplug the nunchuck and it goes back up to 4.

The yellow one goes 4 bars... 3... 2... stays steady at two and is usable.
Unplug the nunchuck and it goes back to 4.

So here comes the resister part. My reds are brighter than the freaken sun (0603 smd)... Yes I know how to solder, yes I know what a resister is, a diode a transister a capacitor. But how the hell do I figure out what resistance I need? I tried a 10ohm as M37R01D suggested but it did squat to slow down the battery drain.

If someone can throw me a freaken bone I will marry your daughter... Or your cat for that matter... Hmm, possibly a hamster?

Thanks in advance guys.
