Hi all,
I apologize in advance, because I know this has probably been dealt with before, but I've searched all over this site and can't seem to find anything that is exactly my problem.
I have a D2E Wii, with a D2Sun v3.05, presoldered on a v12c wii-clip.
I have installed the chip as best as I can figure based on the (somwhat lacking) instructions from D2Sun and wii-clip.
Everything looks fine, except that I had to take off the top half of the wii-clip "head" (as suggested elsewhere on this site) to get enough clearance to close up the Wii.
I have the external power switch attached, but the programmer ribbon is not installed. When I power up with the chip disabled, the Wii works fine.
However, if I enable the chip, either before or after powering on the Wii, I get a solid blue light on the ext PCB (green on the chip), then after about 15-20 secs, my Wii goes to a black screen with the "An error has occurred" message.
I have checked the seating of the clip, and it appears fine, although I don't really hear or feel any sort of "seating" happening. The black frame of the clip does go all the way down and contact the drive PCB, if that helps.
I'm not sure what else to try. I realize I'd be better off with a hard-solder solution, but that's not an option for me right now, so I'm stuck with the clip.
Any ideas?
