If you have 4.0 installed without the nasty stuff which blocks home brew you can do as I do now.

Install the game of your choice onto the Wii then go in through menu to Wii channels and "move" the installed game to the SD card. This clears the room on the Wii onboard memory and your games can then be played straight from the SD from the menu.

I think the question here is...
Is there a tool to put wiiware games directly on to SD without installing all 250 games to the system memory and then moving them all to SD?

And yes, we are talking about wanikoko's 4.0 with the normal 4.0 SD channel menu.

It seems quite time consuming to install and then move them one by one. It sure would be nice if someone could make a tool so they could be played from SD without the install and move step.
Plus it seems to me that installing 250 channels, even moving one at a time would be a lot of writes and I heard that isn't good.

It would be really nice if there was. I can see how the games are going onto the SD card (in terms of files etc) and want to experiment putting them onto a different SD card and trying them on different Wii's (can I plug my SD into another Wii and play my moved games etc).

250 games though?? Thats a lot. There are maybe a dozen wiiware games worthy of install at the moment and maybe two dozen VC titles. It does take a little time to do it (and even longer if you were doing 250) but not too long and is well worth it.

Currently there is no way to actually install directly to the SD card the console needs a ticket installed on the wii to be able to recognise the files.
