Default system update via game

Hi total newb here
I have wiikey v2 works great
homebrew channel as well works great

But I go to put in a few games
such as donkey kong jungle beat

and sonic and the black knight and it the game disk shows system update

Can I update without messing up my stuff

I am on 3.4u which I then downgraded to 3.2

both those games are most likely newer than 3.2 so all its going to do is install a newer version .. if they are burned games you can remove the update with brickblocker ..

in the case of jungle beat that is one of those gamecube remake games , right ? .. if so it will most likely NEED that update to even work , don't quote me on that part tho, i just read that theirs new IOS and mIOS involved.

all system menu versions up to 4.0 are perfectly 'hackable' so updating is not that big a deal anymore.

I have a wiikey v1 and was on 3.2 or so, put in Sonic & the Black Knight and let it run the update. That took me to 4.0. I could still play all my backups via the modchip but it did prevent me from loading wads or other homebrew, so I had to downgrade those IOS files to get that functionality back. If you don't care about homebrew, the update should be fine.
