So, I discover HBC... literally 5 minutes after updating my wii.

Is there ANY way I can downgrade the firmware? OR, if I find out I know someone who HAS NOT upgraded their wii, is there any way I can get HBC installed from them?

Hell, I'm even tempted to buy a new, unupgraded wii because it sounds like it's going to be a while before anyone will find a new installer for HBC.

You can downgrade if you have a modchip.
Edit the Mario Kart dvd image, and add homebrew channel wad instead of the mario kart channel wad. Then just install the Mario Kart channel with the burned image.

It's a fake!
The wii in the video has firmware 4.0 by Waninkoko.
Original 4.0 can't read trucha-signed disc.
That bug has been fixed in firmware 3.3.
