Default So I uninstalled my IOS60 using WadManager (Silly Me)

To make a long story short, I have a launch USA Wii with a genuine Wiikey modchip installed... I was running 3.2U with Homebrew Channel installed and more recently installed Waninkoko's cIOS36 rev9. Then I used Waninkoko's Firmware Updater 4.0 to be able to keep the Truchna bug (and which only updates the necessary system files). I then installed the patched IOS60 file via WadManager 1.3 in order to load homebrew from the SD menu.

Everything was set.. Then (silly me) I decided I wanted to test out for myself what would happen if I were to unpatch the IOS60 file and then try to load homebrew from the SD Card (stupid move I know, but I like testing things out for myself sometimes as a way to better understand why I can or can't do a certain thing). Not fully understanding that I had installed an actual patched IOS60 file into the system instead of only installing an IOS60 "patch", I tried to uninstall the patch via WadManager 1.3. This ofcourse didn't remove only the patch, but removed the entire IOS60 from my Wii, inevitably bricking it (from what I understand beyond repair).

To my knowledge this is considered a "low-level brick" as when I turn on my Wii, the green power light turns on, the DVD Drive boots up, but no screen ever comes up, it is essentially the "Black Screen of Death"...

It is not necessary for me to fix my Wii asap. I haven't really been using my Wii for a while before this and don't see myself needing it anytime soon. I however would like to know if there is anything I can do right now to try to unbrick it? Or should I just wait for BootMii? Will BootMii essentially get me out of this type of Brick as is or did I need to have it installed before hand in order for it to help with this problem? Or will there be any materials I need to purchase before hand once its released (if its ever released)?

Also, if I won't be able to unbrick this myself, are they any confirmed (meaning have done a few unbricks from people on forums and have a good business reputation)modders who I would be able to ship it out to and get it fixed by them?

Thanks in advance for taking your time in reading this, and I hope to hear from you guys soon.

You can try the SaveMii or SaveMiiFrii. If it helps (boots trucha signed DVD with wad manager application as main.dol) you are set.

If the above trick doesn't work, you will need to rewrite your NAND chip. That is possible if you have your keys extracted with xyzzy or have a full nand backup made with yawnd (normal+ECC).

BootMii can't help if the wii is already dead.

If it's permanently bricked, you can sell you wii for parts, I am interested, throw a PM.

I don't have my keys extracted nor do I have a full NAND backup so that eliminates rewriting to the NAND chip..

Would there be anyone that I can send out my Wii to that would be able to get my Keys or rewrite my NAND in its current state? Or is that not even possible?

I will be trying SaveMiiFrii later on today (as I am working all day) when I get home. I am optimistic that it would even load in this state since the IOS60 is missing but its worth a shot.

Would you happen to know of any recovery discs that have Wad Manager as the main dol already prepaired?

Without keys or nand backup, there is no way to recover it. (not even Nintendo can do that trick I believe)

If you manage to work out savemiifrii then i'll hook you up with a wad manager iso.

Sorry for ressurrect te thread.. but i found this interesting and maybe can help me save my wii...
I'm in the same situation with an bricked wii after deleted the IOS60 (i saw myself when reading ILLPLEASA history lol).
What makes me have a little more hope is that i have a copy of the nand, made by bootmii... but i don't have bootmii installed in my system... i managed to have it installed, but the boot time was so long, and i didn't know that was just remove the config files from the SD... so i uninstalled bootmii, but saved a copy of the nand in my PC (a bin file with more than 500mb). This copy is useful, in the situation kaesar told before?
There's a way to inject my nand backup into wii, with an external tool or something else?

thanks.

If you don't have bootmii installed then the nand will need flashing with an infectus (or homemade nand flasher).

If you aren't a very experienced solderer this is not for you.

But keep your nand backup, that can be reflashed back on by someone with the soldering skills and the nand flasher.

If you just deleted the bootmii folder from SD then you'll have your wii going again in notime.

Just put the folder taken from another person on your SD and put your saved nand.bin file in SD root. Bootmii will boot and you'll be able to restore your nand.

If you managed to physically uninstall bootmii from boot2 then you will need an external programmer.
