Default Soft-Modding a Wii with USB Loader - from the beginning

I've been studying the soft-modding of Wiis, please tell me if I have this right. I might write a detailed guide after figuring everything out, because the documentation out there now is confusing and vague.

1st - Install the twilight princess save hack (done)
2st - Run Homebrew channel installer using twilight princess save hack (done)

(at this point I personally stopped because I don't fully understand custom IOS - I do know they are dangerous yet necessary for further modding)

3rd - Install pre-loader, which acts as a safeguard against bricking and speeds up loading of homebrew

4th - Install cIOS36_rev9, which modifies Wii behaviour

5th - Install USB Loader 1.1, which loads games off USB storage

6th - (Optionally) install firmware 4.0, either with the unofficial installer or the traditional method

Am I correct here? Is this method sound? Furthermore, I have 3.1U installed, I wonder if it affects anything? I think 3.2U is the "sweet spot" for modding.

thats is pretty much it. I would upgrade to 3.2u if you want to still use Wii Shop
