I have been searching and googling and registering in all Wii forums. From what I'm reading (I'm a noobie with a modded Wii 3.4E) I just can't install neither the Homebrew channel nor downgrade to 3.2 WITHOUT having the original Zelda game. Am I right? Do you think this issue will be solved?

I just can't play RockBand 2 unless I downgrade, which is a pity after I've bought Wii for this purpose. What about Guitar Hero? I am sure I will be frustrated.

Any suggestions?

I'm sorry I think you are wrong. I've been doing a lot of searching and from what I'm reading the conclusion is that persons with a Wii over 3.4 have to use Zelda.

The DVD install method requires a modchip and won't work on 3.3 firmware update or newer.

I had 3.4U and was able to use the Zelda Hack to install the homebrew channel, but I had to downgrade to install anything else from the WAD manager.

Install IOS16 and use a modified version of WAD Manager and you can install WAD files on 3.4U with no problem. HERE is a package that has the IOS16 Wad Manager in it.

It seems that a copy (downloaded) of Zelda will still do the trick for downgrading if you have the modded Wii. True?

TRUE!!!! Yes you can uses a copy of Zelda if you have a Modchip.
