As far as I know you don't even need a Modchip to use the TP Hack and a Modchip won't stop it either, One important thing though, if the Firmware of your Wii is 3.3 or after then you will have to find the newer version of the hack as the 3.3 update closed a loophole where the hack used to function...

Please try to remember that a Mod chip only works on the Drive Board and not on the main board of the Wii, when you mention D2C2 and D2E these are the versions of the Drive Board... The TP Hack does not need access to the Drive board and therefore can run on any version of the Wii, Like I said previously though, make sure you get the latest version of the Hack though as Nintendo are expected to release more firmware updates that may effect the instalation of the Hack...
