any way to remap controls on GC game?

Is there any way to remap the controls for a GC game? I decided to play Twin Snakes again and have a PS2 to GC adapter but the controls are not quite right

I do not have a mod chip but i have the zelda hack and the HBC

basically what I want to do is when I press A the GC pad thinks I am pressing B etc.

Crack open the controller and switch the wires around, otherwise, no. at least i'm not aware of anything. (maybe in game options?)
