Great news

But is there any let's say all-in-1 pack all homebrew ready to "plug and play"?

I mean is there any ready Apps folder loaded with every good homebrew(with banners, icons and all that stuff) just copy it on SD and have a full featured Wii homebrew channel (MFE-EMULATORS-Homebrew games-Loaders-Install/uninstall Utilities etc.)

I like the apps package, after attempting to set up on my own and failing to get the homebrew channel to see any of the apps, this worked seemlessly! Thanks! One question if anyone could help:

How does one get the emulators (FCEU in particular) to see the roms I installed. I made a dir in the root as fceu/roms, one in the apps/nes/roms even made an nesroms in te root. It just won't see the roms. When I did make the fceu/roms in the root I got a -64 error when I selected the Wii SD instead of the normal -1 error. Is there something I am doing wrong or is there a particular directory structure needed for this particular app package?

Using the homebrew channel beta 7 loading from SD my structure looks like this:

Code:
apps
     fceu
         boot.elf
         icon.png
         meta.xml
fceu
     roms
         file.nes
My roms load fine this way. It was tricky to find the correct directory structure, there was no readme in the file I downloaded. The emulator works very well though.

I can't install the homebrew channel

I'm getting a black screen with the ISO installer and with the twilight hack, it says "found .elf file!" and then loading various things, but never gets up to the disclaimer.

I have a PAL wii with wiikey 1.9g and 3.2E firmware. i dont have anything in the gamecube port. I have previously installed the 10 minute trial version of the original homebrew channel then deleted it from the system menu.

Any ideas what could be wrong?

Edit: I installed an update (Still 3.2E) from a game disc that had previously been cut off half way through installing, and it works now. yay!

Thanks! I got it to read the roms folder. Funny, the Mario games are the only games that act weird, the music seems to play faster than normal as well a the FPS. Everything else runns near perfectly. Any info on the other emu's directory structures to get them to read their rom dir's?

Default Do I need to be up to date with Wii updates?

I have a very early Wii, go it on release day. I am running WiiFree Modchip still and have not done any web updates on the system for quite some time. Will the Wii HomeBrew Channel stuff work if I am not up to date on firmware?

i've read that the wii firmware has to be at least 3.2 in order for the homebrew channel to work, although i don't know if that is correct or not, it's just what i read. it couldn't hurt to do an update through wifi/lan anyway. then all you need to do is download the homebrew channel iso from The Homebrew Channel, burn to disc, boot, and you've got wii homebrew.
