so this is basicly useless becuase using an emulator will be better and i rather wait for a homebrew web browser instead of downlading nintendos one. FINAL QUESTION: is there any downsides to using the homebrew ?

no because it doesnt show a "bought" in the wiishop. the only way it to factory restore the wii. becuase even if you delete there is still traces left of what you have installed.

For whoever got this working, are you on a NTSC or PAL console? I get the channel cannot be used on my NTSC.

Well I posted instructions earlier, I guess the admins felt it was inappropriate,. so they removed the post.

But to answer your question, PAL VC games do not work on NTSC consoles.

Installing any of these is a very bad idea. Even if you delete the channel in the Wii Settings the 'ticket' that you 'bought' it remains, so at any point Nintendo can detect this and ban you. I have no evidence that they will, but...I mean...I would if I were them.

Any discussion of hacking Virtual Console games is "inappropriate" and will be deleted. Nintendo has already issued a cease and desist to our host. Surprisingly, it only mentioned the WADinstaller on Waninkoko's subdomain, nothing about the main site. This was obviously sent before all of these "cracked' games were released so you can bet your ass they will be even grumpier once they see what is going on now.

For those who haven't thought about it, each firmware update from Nintendo comes with a warning that modifying your console could cause it to stop functioning. If they take measures to detect "cracked" V.C. games (which they could very easily do, it would be possible for them to send you an update which stops your Wii from working at all. Keep that in mind if you plan on trying any of this stuff.

Out of interest.... if you use this method to install a VC game, then wipe your user data... Is it still free to purchase the game from the shopping channel?

Yea I figured this was the case, and never gave it a 2nd thought. Im not sure what they could do about it, sense it contains no Nintendo code (obviously the pirated VC releases do, but those are not on your servers) .
