MFE Swap Disk?

Has anyone been able to swap a disk after loading MFE? I am able to watch videos on the boot disk but when I eject the disk and load another(even the same disk!) the /cdrom directory is empty and the disk is not spinning. I tried the L button in various ways but was unable to get it to work. If anyone knows what I am doing wrong, please enlighten me.

Same problem. I can get the drive to spin down by pushing L but I never hear it start back up.
