Default Alternative solderpoint for WiiKey pin 5

Hey

I soldered and desoldered one time to much. While removing the wiifree to mount my new WiiKey i ripped off the solderpad of pin 5 (see WiiKey homepage)! ist there an alternative? or is is it possible to fix this by putting some lead there?

Hope there is a solution. Or i will have to keep my Wii unmodded

Hi, I just registered to reply to this, since the exact same thing happened to me when I soldered my WiiKey in place a couple of days ago.
The solderpoint marked 5 in the WiiKey installation diagram broke off for me too.
But I was able to fix it by soldering the wire directly to the leg of the chip that point is connected to. It was VERY hard to get it to stick to it though, since it's really small and I didn't have a small enough soldering tip.
I eventually got it in place though, but it took quite some time. So yes there is a solution to fix it, but it's pretty hard if you're inexperienced with a soldering iron.
(check the attached image to see which leg you have to solder the wire to)

You could always take it to a professional to get it done, if you're afraid to mess up your Wii.
If you decide to try it yourself then here's a tip; use superglue to get the cable to stick to the top of the chip on the Wii board. And then you align it right above the leg you're soldering it to. That way, you have two hands free to hold the soldering iron more precisely. That's what I did. ^^
Just be careful that you don't bridge two of the legs with solder.

Good luck!

Thanks for your answer! That picture was exactly what i was looking for!

But in the meantime i managed to put a drop of lead into the hole where the solderpad 5 is missing. I was lucky. It makes contact...
