Default USB Loader with External HD.

Hi I bought a Maxtor 250gb one touch mini HD to use with my wii. I don't want to use the whole HD for backedup/HB content. I would prefer to have a partition in WBFS format and one in NTFS format. Is that possible or would the whole HD have to WBFS format?

I am using WBFS manager to transfer files.

Yes I do believe you can do that. Make two partitions in xp/vista and then use the WBFS manager to format one of the partitions and you're good to go

All partitions should be primary partitions. Two (or more) partitions work fine. I have three. The first is a FAT32 partition for homebrew and the second is WBFS and the third NTFS.

I would suggest using the primary partition as the wbfs. Be aware though that windows will not identify it as a recognised file system

I have seen posts where some people are having success with WBFS as the first partition but if you are going to ever use homebrew (like MPlayer) then you'll want the WBFS partition second. I have the Game partition as my second and it works great. I use the first partition for game covers and movies.
