Default cIOS install always fails?

So I attempted to help my friend softmod his wii yesterday and we got The Homebrew Channel 1.0.3 installed easily but can't get any cIOS' to be installed properly. I tried both cIOS36 rev 10 and cios 38 rev 13 (both network and wad installation) but it always fail at the end of the installation. If i recall the error says "ret = -2011". He's on a 4.0U, LU55 wii if that matters. Anyways if anyone could think of any solutions that would be great. Thanks in advance.

that error is because the trucha bug has been patched in 4.0

pull an older IOS from a game disc that has the trucha bug enabled to start rev 13b and select the IOS you downgraded

I think the way I got around it was to use that program to grab IOS file from the nintendo update server used an IOS35 dont remember the exact version

Hmmmm okay what games have the trucha bug enabled though? I've searched for a little while but can't find a list of anything just others asking the same question lol. If you could get me the name or link of that ios grabber I could also try that. Is downgrading firmware an option at this point?

zelda, mario kart and smash brothers brawl should all have IOS that you can use just extract it from the disc using wii scrubber than install it using WAD manager 1.4 then run cIOS rev 13b and select the IOS you downgraded
