You will find the Wii boards to be very unhelpful. It took me a coons age to figure out how to get CIOS Rev 10 installed. Only after searching and playing did I figure it out. I suspect not many will be willing to help. I would if I could

You are right .. this kinda brick is a doozy!

Your wii remote is powering on the unit.. so you know your bluetooth drivers on your ibm nand chip are good.

Your wifi card and all should probably be good as well. Have you tried holding the + and - key on your wii remote and then pressing A to put the wii into Fix me mode to try diagnosis on your wifi card.

Or if all else fails if it lets you in to the system settings just hook er up and download the new 4.0 filesystem and screw all the homebrew stuff. I've been there and bricked a wii before too.. So I feel your pain.

If diagnosis mode doesn't work:

There are very few options. I have found NAND Backups floating around the net, but the problem is that they are encoded to that one unit with the wii key. One guy online claims to have the ability to hack this... but personally I wouldn't trust it.

Anotherwords start playing funeral music for that wii if my suggestion doesn't work

not unwilling but more a case of not able to help. It sounds very much like its fooked. I'd say the idea with the infectus is the only possibility but not easy by the sounds of it. Don't have much brick experience but a quick read on wiibrew shows yours is fcuked. If it aint reacting to savemii free then it really does seem screwed mate.

As for the person who said Bannerbomb, this bricks wii's does it? news to me? Its the installing wads part and these god awful softmods, I hate them with a passion, the coding and guides just aren't comprehensive and sophisticated enough, its proven because even on softmii's forum it has a bricked section, I mean WTF, stick to chips ppl, no bricking there, new drive at worst

Was there any resolution to this? I apparently did the same thing. Didn't get a chance to install bootmii or preloader (that was the plan, so hold the comments about that..). Just following up on whether or not a solution was found and not posted.

I get the black screen on boot, no warning screen. I am thinking of putting it in the microwave for 3 sec and sending it back to big N..(jk)

i have the exact same problem, Firmware 4.0U, black screen of death with modchip, without any usefull homebrew installed.... my last hope is to make an autoboot using Bootmee with the firmware 4.1U.

Any newer kind of game should do the trick.

For sure Wii Fit has the 4.0 update and Wii Sports Resort has the 4.1.

If you have bootmii installed then just write a working nand dump back to your wii.

If not you can't use bootmii if its not installed. In which case you need savemiifree (hacked apart GC controller, press all 4 d pad buttons at once while booting).

And if that doesn't work then you have no choice but to rewrite the nand with a hardware nand flasher.

i dont have a NAND backup, im trying to make an autoboot disk with Sport Resort (US) that it´s supposed to have the firmware 4.1U, i did an autoboot disk with Bootme (no bootmii).
But im only geting a Black screen (Savemefrii Screen--> disk ----> F. BlackScreen.

i dont know if my autoboot disk is not working, or this is not the correct game, or whatever.... i´m quite desperate here..

Yes it is once you have your keys, if you have a full brick and bootmii (not bootme, thats quite confusing) installed you can sort it easily, if no bootmii installed then you will need to use some extra hardware, you'll need a nand flasher.

But this is assuming savemiifree is not working.
Does savemiifree bring up the version number of the system menu in the bottom right corner? If it does you're ok and its minor and then its just a case of like you say making a working autoboot (I haven't done this before so someone else will need to help you with that)

Yes, it's a correct screen of Savemiifrii, it's says 4.0U, so, i know i need an autoboot of a game with a higher upgrade, that's why i'm trying to do an autoboot disk with Sport Resort, i had read that it install that firmware version... but nothing happens, as i said i got

Since when has resort had a 4.1 update in it? I don't think it does matey. I fact I know it doesn't as I have that game and my system will take any updates needed, not got any blockers or anything and I did not brickblock it.
And my system is currently still at 4.0.

Are there any games that have 4.1? I don't think so mate, I think you'll have to wait quite a while to fix that in that way as most newer games still only have 3.4 on them.
Nand flash may be your only hope for the forseeable future
