Default Wii disk drive stopped working?

Ive had the wii since it has been released and i have a wiikey installed into it from the start. and just recently the disk drive has stopped? whenever i load a gme the disk will spin and it will say disk unrecgonized or somthing similar to that? i've opened my wii up to take alook at the insides but everything seems to be okay, i generally use it to watch videos on youtube and of course playing it so i don't know whats the problem. Everything else works fine but it won't load disks anymore.

Im currently running off 3.3E with wiikeys latest firmware

will it read originals? if not then your laser is most likely dead and you need a new DVD drive.

You don't need to buy a whole need drive, you can replace just the laser which would cost about $30. You can also try cleaning the lens with a q-tip and rubbing alcohol or adjust the POT.
