Hi, I have a wii(pal), chipped with a wiikey, only just got it done and have a few backups. Recently got Meteoroid prime 3, burnt the iso, put it in the wii and it told me I needed to update my wii in order for the software to work.
I am running wiikey 1.9 and my wii was updated to v3.3
I haven't run the update, I don't want to turn my wii into a brick! Am I being paranoid, what should I do?
well, if its a pal game on your pal system and you have updated your wii before putting the game in, then it is just a game update, which shouldnt do anything to your wii.
It may not do anything when you hit update, just goes through the steps to see if your wii is updated

Well I am not sure if the game is pal tbh, wiikey 1.9 allows me to play region free so I never took notice of the region. Also, it tells me that if I have an unauthorised modification it may mke my wii inoperable. I don't know if this is sometihng to worry about or if it might turn the wii into a very expensive paperweight as I am a complete n00b to this.
youll be fine the worst case scenario is you might endup with duplicare channels which you can remove nobody has ever bricked there wii with metroide prime 3 yet in actual fact i think there is only two games released that has fully bricked a wii mario strikers and paper mario...

Following on from the above, can I confirm that my PAL Wii V.3.3E will not be bricked by updating from an NTSC game (Wall.E) as there is no actual updating to be done?
