Default Wii doesn't on, red light goes right to orange

Had someone bring me a Wii yesterday, that they say a disc got stuck in the drive, he tried to take it apart to get the disc out, screwed up the drive pretty good. But the wii itself, when you turn it on, only goes from the red light on the front, right to the orange light. Any ideas what could cause this? Haven't done too many Wii repairs yet, so I'm not sure what the problem is.

Well it looks like the green and red on at once, giving it an orangy-amber color, like an original xbox.

The Orange/Yellow light means it is in stand by mode.

Nothing uncommon about that if stand by (WiiConnect24) is enabled.

It does this as soon as you turn it on though. You turn it on and it goes right to standby mode. Thats sort of uncommon isn't it? lol.

I've seen it before. In the case that I repaired, a client had soldered the power and ground wires of a wiikey to the wrong points on the board. As soon as I removed the Wiikey and installed it properly, it worked fine.

So maybe there is a cut trace, or a short circuit somewhere that is doing this to yours.
