Default Opinions for chip.

My friend wants me to mod his wii. He said he got it for X-mas. I have a wiikey in mine and i am happy with it. But i would like an opinion on what chip to put in his as i dont usually mod game systems for other people. And i would prefer less phone calls from him on problems he may or may not have. So going on limited info what chip would you suggest knowing only that he got it for X-mas 2007.

well i cant really say wasabi 2 is still new so it unknow of its issues but non that i have read so far, d2pro9 v2 has its buggy firmware but updates comming soon. major problem with d2pro9v2 is the eject issue. d2pro9 v1 which i have and love it and would not trade it for anything else. I gave you the choice because in the end they both do the same thing, but d2pro9 team have good support and they have been around for a while as they are responseable for the wiikey and the d2ckey. wasabi is still a new companie but was the first to have a 9 wire soloution for d2c and modchip for all wii drives, but they havent updated there chips yet but just made a new one. i would recommand d2pro9 v1 or v2 which really dosent matter coz you wii is realease lauch wii. BUT if you want to take the cheap way out you can just install the wiikey.

Thanks for your reply. Its not so much the price as it is my friend calling me asking whats wrong my wii isnt working right. I done the solder install on my wii with wiikey. I was thinking maybe a wiiclip for him. But i dont know how well those work. I've only read on here about the wiiclip. Iguess ill go with the d2pro9 and hope things go well and he dosent call complaining.
