Default Broken Ribbon Connector..

So I broke my ribbon connector...now what are my options? The brown piece wont connect on the right side, so the connector pops up thus giving me no way to put the ribbon in without it shifting..do i hotglue it back?

if i can hot glue it, where do i go about doing that? definately not where the gold contact is on the ribbon right?

i plugged the wii in, and the (obviously) the wii cant detect the disc in it..

i think its pretty simple.
the ribbon connector had copper contacts.
those must make contact with the contacts on the board. This is where the brown piece comes in. It pushes the ribbon down to make contact.
Since one side of the brown piece is still on, you must find a way to secure it on the other side.

Give this a try:
Put the ribbon in and the brown piece on top.
Press firmly and boot your wii.
If it functions ok, use some blue-tack or something similar to secure it.(I think blue tack is insulating and won't short anything)
If it doesn't function then the ribbon isn't making contact.
Try and try until it makes contact.

I am in USA and stock the FPC connector also. I can install it as well.

DO NOT GLUE it on, I have seen too many people kill there wii with superglue!

THe ones I stock are better then OEM, the clip is in the rear where it is less likely to break and is made of a harder plastic so it is harder to break.

I charge $30 plus returnb shipping to replace the FPC connector and I only need the drive not the complete console.

regards,
Ed
