D2e

Hi all,

My partner in console parts has aquired a wii drive revision D2E and is speculating that this drive will be what is getting rolled out for the xmas machines.
Has anyone seen one of these drives? If so, has any of the Mod team got ony/any to test and start work on?

At the moment he only has one but i will see if he has more or has access to more.
I tried searching the board for D2E but i couldnt find anything. Does anyone have any info on this drive??

Im not sure buddy, i just received a message (offline message) on MSN this morning say that he had got his hands on 1.

There's another guy on these forums either from the UK or Netherlands that mentioned a D2E, the faster one of you guys take a picture of it to prove that it exists, the quicker the action can be started to see if these drives are any different.

I have been told that i will have the picture tomorrow (heard that before). Maybe if it is nintendo's answer to current mods we should speak less of it (especially if a modchip can be made to function with it) so they can roll out the new drives and the mod code/update is already waiting when the drive hit stores.

Now I'm worried, I hope there's a simple solution, not another 30 wire mod again to start.

Dont worry till we see if it is an actual revision.

All i know is that its Panasonic that makes the boards in a plant in northern China (near Korea) which seems kinda specific. However, the DMS/D2A/D2B/D2C IC has 'Panasonic' stamped on the device so the info could have came from there.
If i get pictures tomorrow i will post them here.

I still wouldnt worry too much buddy you could always purchase a new drive from ebay or wherever and drop it in until (if) a solution becomes availble, unless older drives dont work in newer D2E machines which i think would be doubtfull. Lets not panic, just wait and see what happens. IF they are real, i can see people buying up there xmas Wii's early LOL

Panasonic will make the IC specially for Nintendo and they can have anything printed on it they want,I would agree to wait and test a new drive to see if its compatible with the current D2C2 mods available.
As you all know Nintendo will be on this forum all the time looking at what is going on and finding ways to stop and slow people down from modding.
