Now with wii homebrew development is there any possibility of getting an external hd attached to the wii for data/homebrew/wii or gc games storage...so I don't have to keep swapping dvd's or changing files on SD card. I think there is nothing out there right now to do it...but just wondering if it will be coming in the near future. Thanks.
One would think that since we are using "drive chips" (correct?) that we can modify the stream of data, thus program the chip to translate commands sent to the laser into commands send down a bus accessing a certain sector in a file (chosen at start up). Through-put/bandwidth would be the only other problem I can think of at the moment.
The harder part would be interrupting the boot sequence to designate the "disc" inserted from a menu since I'm not sure we have the knowledge of how to do that yet. Maybe, maybe not.
Ive been saying we needed this as soon as homebrew came out from day one. It happened on the ps2 with USBAdvanced but unfortunetly a ps2 is only usb 1.1. But the wii has 2.0 so it makes alot of sense to do this with a Wii.
