if that is true they must have changed the rules after I stoped paying attention to them, its been a quite a wile sence I have but that was the case a wile back , I wonder when that happened it seems to give countrys with popular pro leauges (like soccer or basketball for exsample) an unfair advantage sence all the best player would be playing in there countrys

I just looked up Muhammad Ali he did not start his pro career till after he won the Olympics because in his time it was a rule and if this has changed it must have been relatively resent

I guess ur right on that one. I knew he boxed before he won it, but apparently that was all amatuer.

I don't think it is unfair for countries who don't have pro teams... Just because you are on a team doesn't mean you are the best there is. A ton of people could still be better than you.
