Are you talking about it downloading while in standby? Because my Wii stays cold and nothing is turned on when its in standby (I assume were all talking about the same standby which is when you press the powerbutton and the red light on it goes on).

I love standby mode. It leaves the wii on the internet all the time. This is of some us right now, but even more use in the future, with games like animal crossing and who knows what's going to come out. The wii has around 5 years of life left.

wow, how cheap are you to not let the Wii be in standby?

mine doesn't get hot, it doesn't feel any warmer than a person. Leave it vertical in a nice organizer stand or something. It's not as sexy lying flat. the heat won't hurt it, nintendo is good at engineering, except their need to make you blow on things.

If your really worried about it buy a cheap pc fan, splice a usb wire and attach to the back.

there's absolutely no need for extra fans. wtf are you gonna do when online games come out? the wifi chipset will stay on then too and get warm.

I personally did not like the my Wii getting so hot, especially since I think its looks wicked lying flat. After shopping around I would suggest this fan

http://www.dragon-electronics.com/cg...S&id=DRG000078

it is the only one with speed control and it runs virtually silent (even at full speed), and makes a significant difference. Before purchasing this fan used an old small chipset fan spliced to usb for testing on the wii, and after leaving it overnight it really made a noticable difference

Now I agree it PROBABLY isnt really needed but hey after getting a wiikey what else are you gunna buy for the Wii

btw its like 15 bux said and done ( off ebay ), worth it imo, decide for yourself
