I dont understand why our install should be any different? If anything Wasabi team should test and identify why this is happening and either make changes to the chip or update the firmware....
I totally agree...The Wasabi team needs to investigate into this further and hopefully come out with a updated firmware and not a hardware update.
Am I wrong or did you use the other CLK point on the Wii's PCB ?
Normally one should use the point next to it.
And I see this is a D2C(2) model, not a D2E.
Would surprise me if these same issues occur on both D2E and D2C(2).
Ok, please let us know what the result is. I am very curious...
BTW, you also can try to connect C, D and E point together on the Wasabi's PCB. And believe me, you can try this without risk. I have had this information from Wasabi team a few months ago when I had a problem with a D2C2 drive, so who knows this will help in this case.
I guess you don't have a D2Pro V3 to try, otherwise you would have done that already ? I am not a big fan of D2Pro but it would be nice to see whether the issue remains or that it is solved.
I shouldn't have to go thru the hassle of unplugging power, replug power evertime i want to play a game.
Like i said it only work somtimes like 1 out of 8 tries...The rest of the time it wont accept any disc at all.
I also notice that if i turn power on and off like 6 or 10 times the green stays solid and the red light on the wasabi starts to blink...kind of weird i have no glue whats wrong with it.
Perhaps wrong backup media? Verbatim DVD-R has reputation of working 100% for wii -backup purposes....
Its not a media issue, as having a disc in the drive or not makes no difference as to whether the drive spins up at startup, and any media/game will work once you have got the wii to start with the drive spinning - if you get what i mean.
Its like the drive hasnt received a command to startup, although the neon blue light around the drive always flashes on whatever...
