No soldering experience, took me a week, couple hours a day to learn how to solder to the feet of pins well. This is a lazy mans tool! (and a waste of cash)

hi im new here. again appologies if this seems rude and abrupt. im just throwing debate out there.

looking at which pins the wii clip actually uses to which feet are cut on the chip. there completely different.

eg:

props - wasabi web page

i mean i may be being completely stupid here - it wouldnt be the first time. but thefeet and everything dont seem to match the wii clip

Legs were only trimmed on some (later) D2B based drives.

No D2C drives have trimmed legs.

Wasabi does not use these points for DMS / D2B or D2C installs.

The wii clip is not designed to attach to cut legs - it is supposed to make contact with intact legs.

thats what im saying. but dreamreaper basically told someone that this wont work with cut pins. just needed to verify this 2bh. thanx for doing so.

also do you always have to solder to point f on the mobo with the wii clip install? obv on a d2c chip

Yes, all wasabi installs need the F wire.

I'm still a bit weary of solderless solutions. I'd recommend getting an installer to do a wired install.

ok some of you lot are SERIOUSLY CONFUSED!

the Wasabi this DOES NOT! use the cut pins, because they are never needed, the wasabi uses the pins NEXT to the cut legs, therefore, it doesnt matter if you have cut pins or not, the clip will work perfectly fine.

So please stop showing pictures of cut legs, and read the install diagram from the main wasabi page, then you will see wasabi doesnt use the serial port legs (cut legs)

You will be able to play NTSC games yes, but this isn't what F is for.

F is a reset point, it is required for timing.

Because this chip injects code into the D2C chip (ie like the old DMS/D2B chips did) they can control region without the need of extra wires.
