Wii New WODE Videos

The WODE team have posted two new YouTube videos. The first demonstrates the chip playing GameCube games from an NTFS formatted USB drive. The second playing "Metroid Prime Trilogy," a problematic title for all software based USB loaders.

I wonder if this will work on all games the reload IOS's during gameplay not just Metroid Prime Trilogy?

Off topic: Is there any way of running that game using a USB loader?

Sure. You just need a usb loader that likes alt dols.

You have to first run it normally and create your saved game thing.

Then reboot the loader and go and use one of the alt dols (for mp1, or 2, or 3). It'll skip the main menu and go straight to the game.

Except you can't chose the difficulty or save file. Is there a fix for that.

probably not, sadly.

..beyond burning it to a disc or something. Though I thought difficulty was also done in the menu area where you make your saved game.

Normally you can select your difficulty when you load your save file. When mp1.dol, etc is loaded directly, you don't get those options, the game just starts.

The only way to do it is to use a disc. Create a save with your difficulty, get to first save point, save. Then you can restart with usb loading. It's not ideal, but only needs to be done once (per game). I'm not sure if we could just share a save that this is done for, since the saves are Mii-specific?
