I read that unless you start the game from main.dol the veteran get selected by default and you won't be able to select a save.

When I tried to play, every time you start up the game and load your save file, it asks you to choose a difficulty.

Hah, you are right. I played from disc the first few times. Chose normal mode the first time, it never asked again. Then played from USB yesterday, assuming it kept my setting.

I just loaded it from the disc again. Not only is the setting on Veteran now, it doesn't (nor has it ever) ask what difficulty I want. I click the save and it starts. There doesn't seem to be a way to get it back to normal, unless I'm missing something. This is for MP1. Oh well
