Yes, this has to be installed to the Wii.

The mail purpose is for brick protection and recovery.

Did you install it before bricking? That is the idea, that if you have this on your Wii beforehand, it makes the system much safer in case of a brick.

You have to replace the boot2 in nand flash with bootmii boot2. then the bricked wii will load bootmii.

You have to desolder flash and program it external or you can use infectus2 to do it onboard.

Maybe they will release it later.
