It also allows for direct booting into the Homebrew Channel (same as preloader), but gives more protection.

I do like the sleek interface. I can't wait to see how much this matures.

One question in regards to the Nand backup and restore. Can I use my current SD card that has HBC stuff on it without losing it or do I need a clean card for this?

@jimmyblue71: not by itself, but it will provide a much needed safety net for experimentation.

This is effing stellar news. Wii hacking just got a lot safer!

@ccfman2004: According to this guide: http://yafaze.com/forums/viewtopic.p...e7091a5af66df5 the SD card is formatted when you make a backup, so you need an extra SD card.

@jimmyblue71: Here is a guide to install cIOS on a 4.0 Wii where HBC is already installed: http://yafaze.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=70
And here is a guide to install HBC and cIOS on a virgin 4.0 Wii: http://yafaze.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=113

And a question. Does anyone know if the DVDX version from this package will work on a Wii with system menu 3.4 or 4.0 and a mod chip? The previous DVDX 3.4 only worked on Wii's without modchip afaik.

I just installed both boo2 and IOS version and reboot my wii, but it still enters the system menu.
I had my sd card inserted and three of bootmii files in bootmii folders.

Then I try to boot bootmii via HBC, and the power button doesn't work for me.

any ideas ?

Default Bug?

I tried it on two of my Wiis, both works ok.
But on one of my Wii when I try to dump nand to sd card,
It hangs on "checking sd card"... but reboot and try again it passed checking.
Another problem is "press eject (start) to continue", nothing happens if I
press eject button, but start button works.

These problem are occur on same Wii.
Another Wii bootmii works great!

I have a Wii (v4) that was having issues with DVDx not loading properly. After using BootMii and installing DVDx, it is now installed and working. I got a DVD to play in MPlayer which is nice.

Note: I started softmoding my Wii after I had installed v4.0 (Using the Link petspeed provided)

Hope that helps,
