So what I want to do is:
1. Install the rev9 Cios
2. Upgrade to 4.0 (with all the useful things from 3.2,3.3.
3. Install the USB Loader
4.ENjoy

Is that procedure okay?
After you install 4.0 make sure you also install the IOS60 and IOS61 and Shop Channel

This will re-enable Trucha in IOS 60 as well as give you the new Shop Channel so you can keep buying VC and etc.

I do give one word of caution, Be absolutely sure you know what you are doing as installing anything that changes the System Menu, IOS the System Menu needs can potentially brick your Wii.

I already know of one case where this happened.

I did use the Wanikoko 4.0 updater without much of a problem, it initially did fail to install to install one item, the Forecast Channel, running it again and everything when fine.

Just make sure you know what you are doing, o.k.?

Default Wbfs_win

Just wanted to pass along a report with the wbfs_win util. First off, I had already used the loader to format the partition and rip in 15 games. Windows of course could not see the partition and I was unable to get wbfs_win to work on it. I could not even init the drive until first formatting it (goodbye ripped games) to fat32.

After that, it seems to be working.. I ran the init, said it was successful.. went into the partition where i have all of my iso's and started a batch convert:

i:\wii>for %f in (*.iso) do wbfs_win.exe h add "%f"

so far it's adding them all.. we'll see what happens when i plug the drive back up to the wii. if you want to use the above command, make sure you change the drive letter (h in my case) to yours.. note that it is h .. not h:

(also the quotes around %f are important when filenames contain spaces)

Edit: Everything was successful. The only games that are screwed are PAL .. i'm ntsc.. I have a wasabi and they work off of the dvd, so i'm assuming the iso's need to be patched.

The ONLY game that i have tested so far that doesn't work is Splinter Cell. It goes past the "connect nunchuck", says Licensed by Nintendo.. then black screen.. hard lock. (also tried with usb-loader 1.1 and still same thing)

ok thanks ccfman2004

This is what im going to do (please advice me if I'm doing something wrong (please).

ok first im going to follow the following tutorial:
http://www.yafaze.com/wii/menu4.0hack.html
that means: Install IOS60 and later use Waninkoko's 4.0 updater

second: Install the rev9Cios using the following method:
http://modyawii.tehskeen.com/index.p...oader_wii.html

using the IOS36-64-v1042 WAD (using the offline option)

Put the USB loader on my SD card

ENJOY???

im I right or im I missing something?

For others: what I want to do is upgrade from 3.3 to 4.0(keeping the useful things from 3.2,3.3) then Install the USB loader.

I have 0 none nada CIOS installed, the latest update I applied was that from MAdworld cause it was safe im on 3.3

No install CIOS then 4.0 then IOS60 then USB loader

CIOS is needed to install wad's in 4.0 CIOS IS A WAD and without CIOS, you can't install any wad's on 4.0, even CIOS!!!
