Added:

Compatible with Drivekey / Solderless Mods, Wiikey 2 etc.
Added vista/ vista 64 compatibility, before had problem with save dialog box now working, which only worked on xp.

The ripper is far more stable than before, but is only reading 10 sectors at a time now 10 x 2048 bytes packets which seems to be the limit the wii drive reads before doing any buffering. Rip speeds will be slower because of this.

The ISO image is set to USA region, so make sure modchip is set to allow region free if you have a PAL or Jap console. This is default on most chips.

exactly,... Why does this need the USB Gecko?

It takes several hours and yes, it requires the usb gecko.
