Thanks for the heads up on this, mods.

I've only just successfully downgraded my 3.3k Korean Wii to 3.2u. Menus all in English now so I certainly won't be upgrading for the time being.

I'm still a noob to be fair, so I'll just keep have a tickle here and there, now and again.

Once again thanks.

Does it look like there will be any fix to just install the SD Channel? Without the whole bogus Homebrew killing stuff?

The only reason your system would be bricked was if you modified the firmware, which already voided your warranty so why would Nintendo care? What they likely mean in the user agreement is that they will be updating IOS files and patching holes without warning.

Sorry for the duplicated question but I just want to make sure of certain things before updating to 4.0.

1) does anyone have tested if Wiikey still works?
2) Is it possible to use VC/WiiWare downloaded content without being purchased from the Wii Shop Channel
3) Which Homebrew Apps are no longer working?
4) Whicj IOS are changed/updated/deleted in this update
5) What are the use of IOS16?

I am a really noob and just want to learn more about this.

Thank you

As far as I'm concerned there is no downside to upgrading if you have CIOS, DVDX and HBC installed beforehand. Am I right? I can't see a single reason to not upgrade.

You can only run official Nintendo downloaded content from the SD Card, but you couldn't run anything from it before, so nothing lost.

I hope that there will be a way to transfer homebrew wad's to the sd card in the future as 512mb is really quite limiting!
