Wait a minute. Nobody seems to be asking the right questions. Why can't we all just stay on 3.2 if we want? Who cares about the SD update.

What I want to know is. Can we stay on 3.2 and just install the shopping channel manually, along with any IOSs needed to run future games?

Yeah but it's dodgy. Can't we just stay on 3.2 and update the IOSs and the shopping channel?

Sure you can, there is absolutely no necessity to upgrade to 4.0.

There is an app that will upgrade the shopping channel. Take a look at the News section of the forums

can you please link to this app.. i searched in under "upgrading shopping channel" and I'm not getting it. Thanks. I'm on 3.2 and don't want to upgrade to 4.0 unless I absolutely have to (fully bricked one wii using koko's method for some strange reason)

blah, just wait for the beta of bootmii next month.. That's when I plan to bother upgrading to 4.0 ... At least if you brick your wii (which has happened to a few people trying to go to 4.0) you can easily recover. Just have patience.

Shop upgrade.

Here you go. You don't need to install IOS60 if you are not upgrading to 4.0.

You must install IOS61 in order for the shop channel to work.
