I trust your reasoning Slowking, however it has the ability to play GC backups (apparantly), which hasn't been seen in the softmod scene yet.

So either, they just figured out how to and did the work to get GC backups working (which is quite an achievement imo), or this chip has more ability than softmodding...

Oh wait... i guess since this is hardware, it doesn't matter if we are in GC or wii mode, as the signal can still be modified... ah i don't know quite what I'm talking about lol. I joined to post this.

It looks just like the tool I use to reconfigure memory sticks (SD or pro duo) with or to copy firmwares onto.
