What a friggin baby this guy is... Seriously, people do this kind of thing for recognition... There sure is no money in it for them so why do it if it is not for recognition... Now, how does a leaked beta have any effect on anything at all?? It does not. He is either doing this to create a lot of hype (Adding to the whole recognition thing) and will go through with the project anyways, OR, he is a whiny little baby who got his feelings hurt and will abandon all of his hard work because it causes him too much pain... Bullshit.
Besides, Nintendo will plug this hole soon enough, so I don't get what the big deal is. I will sit back and keep on making money off hardware mods The world is a beautiful place!

Waninkoko = Cry Baby!
The leak is his fault. He has no one top blame but himself. What an idiot!

He's not a crybaby, but the scene gives him so little cred for what he has achieved, even if not all his works are 100% by himself. There's no easy task to please everyone. People are not perfect. I can see why he isn't releasing this app any further, however, I would love him if he gave the scene a second chance.

I must express my opinion on this matter... waninkoko behaves as a little child, he has by his own decision made the program a private beta... so forth everythin ok, BUT! here comes whats in my opinion is his wrong doing. Then he suddenly and for no reason sends the beta to some random ppl in IRC... He begs for the beta to be "leaked" and when it does he cries like a little baby... Its a sad behavior but what can u expect from a post teenager who wants some headlines.

Wanikoko shouldn't be blamed. He has all rights to quite if he wants, and he has reason to. You should all blame the guy who leaked it, he was trusted by Wanikoko, and look at what he went and did... If you really wanted him to continue, you should be supporting him, not calling him a crybaby. I think it's a shame, but what can you do?
If you do tryout the beta, at least report bugs to Wanikoko, in case he changes his mind. He deserves at least that. I still see him as one of the greatest wii hackers out there, and I look forward to his next project.

The stupidity of people never ceases to amaze me. Why is everyone blaming Waninkoko for this? GBATemp are the ones responsible for the leak and they are the ones you should be blaming. When the file was posted there, dozens of users immediately asked for it to be deleted and, instead, the administrators decided to turn it into front page news. This site, as well as others, picked it up from there. Had they done the right thing in the first place and deleted it, none of this would have happened. They wanted to make themselves look good at the expense of Waninkoko and the rest of the scene.
It's funny how after months of GBATemp users basically heralding Waninkoko as the second coming of Jesus everyone there has now turned their back on him and are slagging him off for ceasing development of the softmod. I'm surprised to see similar sentiments being echoed here.
The assumption that Waninkoko "wants less publicity" or that he had someone leak the app on purpose is ridiculous. This was supposed to be a closed testing and there were good reasons for that. We have criticized him in the past and he isn't exactly a big fan of this site either but, in this case, I agree with him. NOTHING good could have come from the leaking of this app, other than drumming up some traffic for the site that leaked it. Other testers have had the app in their possession for over a week and it did not leak. Make of that what you will.
I can assure you that development of this app (and similar ones) will not be stopped. The general public will just no longer be hearing about it. You can blame GBATemp for that, not Waninkoko or anyone else.

Easy. Odds are, the ones claiming this are responsible adults and act as such. We don't blame our problems or our IGNORANCE on others. His project was HIS responsibility. No one else's. He made POOR decisions and got bit in the end. So then he just throws in the towel like some kind of temper tantrum?
Sure, he has every right to throw in the towel. That's not what is being questioned. His reasoning behind it, is what is being questioned. Blaming GBATemp is like blaiming a snake for bitting you.
