If bushing told them the problem and how to fix it its possible that it was an easy change with no need for testing.

Meh....after not finding out exactly what this update's for, it's really no interest.

If it ain't broke, don't worrry bout it.

Cause your next update might block somethin' ya never knew existed,

We already have the ability to run homebrew on the Wii so the odds are it's not that. Also if it was a true update to the photo channel (eg printing options) it would be listed as a new version in the Wii shop channel. The odds are it is something to do with Bushings discovery and may be such a simple coding error that Nintendo very quickly patched it to stop others "stumbling upon it" (e.g. Waninoko).
Also I think Bushing is teasing us with his latest topic xyzzy about getting the keys for your particular wii and it is somehow linked to what now may be a patched exploit.

It maybe that one of the keys can tell the firmware that the disc in the drive is an original, or inject the key into the ISO???.

What about the photo channel in maintenance mode (hold + & - and then hold A on the health ad safety warning screenafter turning the wii on)??

Yes, it executed a fragment of code, that wrote to a file that told the PSP what version it's Firmware apparently was. ( back then such a file was very simple. ) You would then use the official 1.50 update installer, to install 1.50 over the newer firmware.

It could be say and exploit with the new audio format they introduced, it could have been a simple vulnerability. The browser was never hacked in time unfortunately.

Probably required an update to their photo channel and firmware to make it happen.
And whether or not they plan to have something similar for other countries, it would make sense to keep the programming for the photo channel consistent across regions.
The update is to prepare for the US printing service I believe.
