Wii Nintendo Contacts Bushing

Bushing has reported on his blog that a representative from Nintendo has contacted him in regards to the recently found security hole that would allow backups to be run on a non-modified Wii console. You can expect Nintendo to patch the hole very soon so don't expect anything useful to ever come of it.

People who want this softmod stuff just won't update there wiis when the fix is out then Waninkoko or someone will find it and release it. :/ Bushing is trying but it won't matter it will still be released at some point.

It was only a matter of time before it was discovered, the console has been wide open for months with the twilight hack... Everything is possible with it, if you have the ambition to figure it out. Ambition takes time though, and new games don't wait or work on old firmwares...

I don't get how it works without being modified unless Bushing is only referring to hardware-specific mods. Nintendo wouldn't pull a sega, least I wouldn't think.

But we can now install different ISOs leading to maybe not having to update if we install modded ISOs of the ISO needed to play a newer game.

just a heads up...don't be surprised when Nintendo comes out with the updates to patch this hole it will also patch the homebrew stuff all together. sometime those security holes are some what tie together and for them it will be easier to kill two birds with 1 stone...i doubt Nintendo will leave the home brew alone. i hope Bushing didn't shoot himself in the foot by doing this...he could just keep this hole to himself and wait in case other methods to run homebrew are blocked off in the future. Nintendo will never play nice and cooperate with hackers (you can tell by the disrespect tone in their email)
