I can't say I agree with helping Nintendo patch its security holes but in this world we all must do what we must. I understand his motives, he is interested in preventing Nintendo from being more motivated to fully kill all Wii homwbrew, I dout it would help though as I would assume they intend to do so anyway.

I agree. Nintendo doesn't care how helpful we are, I am afraid Bushing will simply be stabbed in the back. We're talking about powerful people with money here...they don't generally give up anything that can make them money.

True....Corporations only speak one language "money". Is bushing telling them them where exactly the hole exists? For everything he released makes me wonder why he is doing this. Unless I skipped over some reading, what is his benefit for letting nintendo know about this is what I'm still trying to figure out.
The concept behind it is a show of good faith. All of the exploits currently in use by people like us are public knowledge and Nintendo already knows exactly how they work.
This is an exploit I suppose Bushing decided has no merit for anything but piracy (seems odd to me if it can run official code it can run homebrew cant it? I realise offical code is encrypted and signed) and figures if things like this are handed over they might ignore the more harmless stuff he is interested in.

I *bet* Nintendo fixes the hole AND kills homebrew. At least if that happens then hopefully bushing will have learnt a lesson, and won't do this again in the future.
Nice to hear Nintendo has contacted bushing and is looking into patch the hole. I have a lot of respect for these guys, I just hope this doesn't come back to bite them in the butt. I'd hope Nintendo looks at this gesture as a sign of good faith and proof that hombrew development and piracy don't necessarily have to go hand-in-hand. But even "legit" homebrew is illegal (or at least it's a very gray area), so they really have no obligation to allow it to continue, no matter idealistic bushing and the gang may be.
EDIT: The funniest thing is people sending bushing obviously fake emails trying to get him to tell them about the exploit. Like a Nintendo representative would use hotmail or gmail for such an important communication instead of a corporate email address, LOL.

If the update is removed on a game that actually needs the update then the game wont RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Morons.
Before you start throwing names around you might want to edit previous posts using the abbreviation ISO where IOS should be placed. Pretty big difference.
I'm all for what Bushing is trying to do. Obviously, he's never going to cut and paste his conversations with Nintendo. Hopefully, though, when all is said and done he will provide some insight into how they reacted and dealt with him. It's not every day that this kind of contact occurs.
