I have sent you a PM with the link since I do not think I can post it here.

Also, what exactly does this do?

What does it add?

I already know about the Disc dumper that uses this

You beat me to it.

The mechanism that authenticates discs is built into the Wii Drive's Firmware.

Until an ISO loader is released, you will always need a modchip to play Wii backups.

GameCube Backups, different story.

it allows for reading dvds in wii mode. Like the disc dumper, the new version of genesis emmulator, and anything else can be updated. But you apparently still need a chip even to read non game discs.

@monoufo: could you explain that a bit more? does it change the ability to play real wii titles? at this point, what would be the reason for switching to this? (i've seen the disc dumper but that's not a good enough reason by itself for me to risk a brick)

it will allow those with a modchip to burn things to dvds like roms and movies, and access them from updated homebrew applications. without it, homebrew is limited to SD and USB.

First, thanks Waninkoko, but next time give us some more information on the release! Such as, why do you say it requires a wad file, when you include an elf and dol (and obviously no wad)? Does anyone know how to really install this thing?
