D2E Compatible D2Pro Now Shipping!

The D2Pro Team has started shipping the D2E compatible version of their chip to resellers. As they've done in the past, distributors who have stock of D2C2 chips were offered to have them exchanged for D2E chips.

They also fixed the reset bug that occurs on some drives and will release an update together with the D2C -> D2C2 update. This will also solve reset issues on D2C2 compatible chips.

Retail consoles with D2E chipsets have started appearing on Japanese store shelves so it is only a matter of time before they reach other territories as well.

Sure, they support the new drive, but that doesn't mean the chip will actually work. Look at all the problems with the D2Pro9 v2 chips.

D2C --> D2C2?? So v1 is actually getting an update? I thought the D2E would just be an spi flash update like the wasabi..

But not as many problems as Wasabi and they seem to be the most stable chips available right now.
Support is the best of the bunch right now.

First? You mean 5 days after the Wasabi guys were having their new d2e chips shipped out. Which is in actual fact second.

What about the costs to people supporting the d2pro9? I imagine they will be stuck with the shipping/duty/other costs associated with shipping the "old" stock back, which is really crappy considering the chips are sold as "upgradeable". I would be pissed if I had large quantities.

Its just good to know they will work fine if anyone comes across these drives in the next few weeks.
I don't think many people were holding large volumes and anyway there are no D2E drives in the UK/EU market right now so actually there is no real need for the chips anyway.
We have been sold out of stock even before the shipments have been arriving.

Shipping is like $70 bucks - its less money than it would cost me to hire someone to flash 2000 d2pros!
Duties/other costs = $0

D2pro team still are on top

Wasabi v2 is an awesome modchip but there is no reflash service, no jtag, and we ordered more 3 weeks ago, and still no stock. Other resellers are having the same issues with their distributors. No contact, no tracking, no invoices.
wiizard - well, no one really cares about it yet, and i understand they have issues with d2c2...
